Answers to common questions, and what to do when something doesn't go as expected.
Films
Is there a watermark?
No. There's no watermark or branded ending on any plan, including Free.
How long can a film be?
There's no length setting. Say how long you want it in your brief ("about 30 seconds", "a two-minute explainer") and the agent aims for that. The finished cut may come out a little shorter or longer; ask it to tighten or extend the film afterwards.
Can I use my own footage, recordings and files?
Yes. Attach any files to your message, or add them in the Assets panel. The agent can cut footage, transcribe recordings, put screenshots on screen and read documents. See Adding your material.
Can I change the film's shape after it's made?
Pick a shape from Delivery frame under the viewer to preview it with bars. Re-lay it out for … then writes a request in the composer to rebuild the layout for that shape; send it if you want it. Export also offers Fit with bars or Fill and crop for any shape.
The film has no narration, or no music.
If a voice or music service was unavailable during the run, the film is still finished and a notice says No narration or No background music. Ask the agent to add it again.
Why did the agent ask me about a video clip?
Video clips cost more than anything else, so AnimSpark always asks before generating one, with the estimated credits. Skip and the agent carries on without it.
Editing
My hand edit was reverted.
Some parts of a scene are worked out in code and can't be changed by hand. For inspector and text edits the inspector says why; choose Ask AI to do it to make the change as a request. A move or resize that can't be saved just snaps back. Edits also can't be made while the agent is changing the film. Wait for it to finish. And if a round of the agent's changes overwrote your hand edits, a card says This turn undid N of your hand edits and offers Ask AI to put them back.
How do I get back an earlier version?
⌘Z undoes your own recent edits. To go back past the agent's changes, restore a version you saved in Version history. Save a version before big changes. See Versions and history.
An asset shows black in the preview.
Your browser can't decode that file's format. The file itself is fine and the rendered film isn't affected; AnimSpark makes a playable copy, so check back in a little while.
Runs and credits
A run stopped halfway.
A notice above the composer says why. Press Resume to continue from the last checkpoint. You're only charged for what was used. If Codex or Claude Code was doing the work, press Try again.
I ran out of credits mid-run.
The run stops at its last checkpoint and you're charged for what was used. Move up to a bigger plan, then press Resume. See Plans and credits.
It says my plan runs up to N generations at once.
Each plan runs a set number of generations at the same time. Start the new one when a current run finishes, or upgrade for more. Each card in Projects shows In progress while its project is running.
New generations are paused.
While we update the service, fix an issue or add capacity, new generations pause for a while; the message says why. Runs that are already going aren't affected. Try again later.
Export and sharing
Export won't record in my browser.
Recording video in the browser needs Chrome, Edge or Arc 132 or later. When Chrome asks what to share, pick This Tab, and keep that tab in front until the files download. If your Mac blocks screen capture, allow your browser in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording, then quit it completely and reopen it. The Mac app doesn't need any of this.
The Mac app says the local engine isn't responding.
Quit AnimSpark and open it again.
Does a share link update when I change the film?
Yes. The link always shows your latest film. To stop sharing, press Stop sharing in the Share dialog.
Agents
Codex or Claude Code says "Not found" or "Sign in".
Not found: install it on your Mac and sign in (click the row for a link to its install page). Sign in: press it and finish logging in in Terminal. Codex and Claude Code only run in projects stored on your Mac. See Switch the agent.
My coding agent doesn't see AnimSpark.
Keep the Mac app running, make sure the agent shows Connected in the Third-party agents popover, and start a new chat in your agent. See Drive AnimSpark from your coding agent.
My coding agent stopped to ask about credits.
Each agent session has a credit allowance. When it's used up, AnimSpark asks before spending more: Allow {n} more lets it continue.
